10/5/2016 · The Center has two housing facilities for its student scholarship recipients — Hale M?noa and Hale Kuahine. In addition, housing in these residence halls is available to students with no formal affiliation with the East – West Center , e.g.
University of Hawai?i graduate students as space permits.
1. East – West Center (EWC) Housing : Located on the UH campus but technically not part of UH , the EWC, probably the best place on campus for graduate students to live since the residence halls are right across the street from the Department of Linguistics and close to the library. The Center has, Hale Manoa is the East – West Center ‘s student dormitory. This 13-story building, constructed in 1962, was designed by American architect I. M. Pei, and is located in the University of Hawaii, Honolulu. The dormitory has a housing capacity of more than 400.
EWC Graduate Degree Fellowship. The East – West Center Graduate Degree Fellowship provides funding for up to 24 months for Master’s or Doctoral degree study for graduate students from Asia, the Pacific, and the U.S. to participate in the educational, residential, and leadership development programs at the East – West Center while pursuing graduate study at the University of Hawai‘i.
