8/12/2019 · To complete tim’s post, the setting you want in the screenshot is the Lift Z setting. Set that to zero and you have turned off z-hop. Or, if you know the start height of the top surface of your print you can change the Only Lift Z/Below Z setting to just below your top surface layers and then z-hop will be off for the surface.

3/4/2010 · z – hop is a good thing when it’s comes to supporting very detailed and intricate prints. For z – hop to work you need a shit ton of cooling, slower speeds, and a highly detailed model. For prints like this, z – hop is a negative because you are negating many retraction settings you might have.
11/21/2014 · In Cura 14.03 it is under Expert -> Expert settings -> Z hop , and in Slic3r 1.1.7 under Extruder options -> Z lift. I have just printed a file with Z hop (Cura) with 0,1mm setting and the file was intact, nozzle didnt hit it and it looks much nicer.
3/4/2010 · When hop is enabled, the nozzle doesn’t just move in the X/Y plane during retracted travel. Instead, the nozzle first lifts a defined amount in Z , then moves X/Y, then lowers down again before resuming print moves.
